You can view free live web cams from all over the world; here are just a few web cams that I found:
- Earth Cam : EarthCam is a search engine of web cams from around the world. You can find web cams from pretty much anywhere in the world here.
- Caltrans Live Traffic Cameras : For Californians; see how bad a commute you have to look forward to.
- Panama Canal Live Webcams : See ships coming through the Panama Canal.
- EternalSunset.com : “Eternal Sunset endeavours to ensure you can enjoy the sunset live from any location, at any time. As the sunset moves westward, Eternal Sunset continuously tunes into different webcams, chasing the sunset around the globe.”
- Live Loon and Eagle Cam : from the Maine BioDiversity Research Institute.
- Mount St. Helens Volcanic Cam : I tend to watch this one since I’m in this general neck of the woods.
- Times Square Cam: Watch people live in Times Square - this is pretty fascinating.
- Washington DC Webcam : “A view of Washington from the washingtonpost.com newsroom in Arlington, Va.”
- Tommy’s List of Worldwide Webcams: This enormous webcam directory has not been updated in a while, but the links are all still good.
- SwitchCam, Zurich, Switzerland: live web cam panorama of central Zurich. Gorgeous.
- Roach Cam: From the University of South Carolina - the Roach Cam!
- Mount Washington Observatory Web Cams: A collection of web cams on and around New Hampshire’s Mt. Washington.
- Live Cam from Silverdale, WA: a live view of the Olympic Mountains in Washington state.
- Ireland Web Cam: I believe that this is Dublin, but not totally sure.
- The Arctic Web Cam: “The ArcticCam, located in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner building in Fairbanks, Alaska, overlooks downtown Fairbanks, the Chena River and the Cushman Street Bridge.”
- Live Panorama of Kilauea Volcano: “This panorama is a composite of three images from a research camera positioned on the north rim of Pu`u `O`o’s crater.”
