How to Enable Automatic Logon in Windows XP

To automatically log in a specified user each time Windows XP boots rather than having to enter the user name and password each time:

  1. Click on Start, and then click on Run.
  2. In the Open box type control userpasswords2. Then click OK.
  3. Uncheck the box that says “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer” and then click OK.

How to Remove Ads in MSN Messenger

To edit the msnmsgr.exe file, you’ll need a program called Resource Hacker (aka Reshacker), a freeware program to edit the resources that a Windows program uses.( Download Resource Hacker Here)

Note: this is for the latest version of 7.5, 7.5.0311. You can check your version, by choosing Help > About MSN Messenger from the programs menu.

When you have ResHacker running, follow these steps:

1. Make sure you are not running messenger. Right-click its icon in the system tray, and from the menu select Exit

2. Now you’ll need to locate the messenger executable msnmsgr.exe, it will normally be in \Program Files\MSN Messenger\

3. Make a backup of the file. Right-click msnmsgr.exe and from the menu choose Copy. Now right-click on an empty area in the same folder, and select Paste from the menu. The backup will be named Copy of msnmsgr.exe. If you ever want to get back to the original file, simply delete msnmsgr.exe, and then rename Copy of msnmsgr.exe to msnmsgr.exe

How to bypass Bios Password

Have you ever been locked out of an old computer by a forgotten BIOS password? There’s no need to get frustrated. It is relatively easy to bypass this safeguard.

Steps:

  1. Power off the computer and make sure that it is unplugged.
  2. Open up your computer case. You need physical access to the motherboard to complete this procedure.
  3. Find a circular, (mostly) silver metallic object on the motherboard. This is the CMOS battery.
  4. CAREFULLY remove the CMOS battery and leave it out for about 120 seconds. This will flush the CMOS memory which stores the BIOS password and all other configuration. (See Warnings) Continue reading ‘How to bypass Bios Password’

How to Bypass a School Filter

Ever surfing the net and your favourite page comes up blocked by that annoying filter? Here’s how to get past it

Steps :

  1. Find a proxy site. Just do a search for “free online proxies“. this will provide you with a number of proxies to bypass filters.
  2. When you find a proxy site, type the name of the site you want to access into the box. Most sites have a checkbox that says “block scripts”. It is better to uncheck this
  3. Some schools use proxy services (such as Bess) to do the filtering. It may be possible to disable it by going into Internet Explorer and choosing Tools>Internet Options>Conections Tab>Lan Settings… and unchecking the “Use a proxy server for your LAN”. It can be reenabled prior to leaving. In the likely event that this ability is disabled, one can use a registry editor to change the value of “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ProxyEnable” to 0.
  4. Hit the go button and you will get to your favourite site!
  5. Pr0xy DragonProxy and that type of thing. If you can, locate a system is that the same location as you. If not, a proxy works very slowly!
