Adobe Photoshop Online faces Lack of Interest from Pros

Although the company won’t say when, Adobe is planning to offer Photoshop as an ad-supported online service. Reports suggest it may happen within six months. Adobe recently announced a partnership with online photo sharing site Photobucket that involves plans to integrate Adobe’s Web-based video editing and remixing technology with Photobucket. An online version of Photoshop should appeal to the average consumer, but professional photographers – the major users of Photoshop – may not be won over so easily.

[Photoshop] is a huge application, and the way I run it I have a lot of customization and plug-ins from third-party developers,” said Robert Houser, a Piedmont, Calif.-based photographer, via e-mail. “I wouldn’t be so concerned about Internet speed (bandwidth), most of the time, but performance is a huge consideration. …Anything that slows me down costs me money, or conversely, anything that speeds up my workflow makes me money.[ source ]

Adobe Photoshop CS3 beta to drop this friday

Exclusive: Adobe Systems Inc. on friday will make available for download an early public beta of its next-generation graphics editor, Photoshop CS3, but will otherwise abstain from delivering pre-release copies of other Creative Suite 3.0 applications.

People familiar with the matter tell AppleInsider that Adobe chief executive Bruce Chizen will formally announce plans for the beta release during the company’s fiscal fourth quarter conference call with analysts and members of the media on Thursday.

On the other hand, those same people say that the San Jose, Calif.-based software developer does not plan to release or discuss details of other Creative Suite 3.0 applications, such as Illustrator, Dreamweaver and InDesign.

The Photoshop CS3 beta, which will be posted to the Adobe Labs website on friday, will include Adobe Bridge and Device Central components, and be available simultaneously for both the Mac and Windows operating systems. Read the full story at Appleinsider

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Keyboard Shortcuts

shortcuts.jpg

Keyboard Shortcuts (or “hotkeys”) are keystrokes used to invoke a command and they usually (but not always) involve a modifier key such as Ctrl apple.png ), Alt (Option), or Shift. For example, instead of choosing Select » Deselect from the menus, you could simply press Ctrl+D ( apple.png+D).

Keyboard shortcuts can not only improve your efficiency in Photoshop, but they can even provide you with functionality that might not be available by any other means, like zooming while a dialog window is open, or inserting a “Select forward layer” into an action.Click here to download Adobe Photoshop CS2 Keyboard Shortcuts PDF file.If you need shortcuts for the other versions of PS or for MAC you can have it in here

Adobe Photoshop CS3?

Think Secret has once again posted rumors of what we might see in the next version of Photoshop, Photoshop CS3, due for release around the second quarter of 2007. Assuming any of it’s true, I am pretty excited about Live Filters and more non-destructive editing improvements. I have been waiting for something like Live Filters for a while now. Perhaps the Adobe acquisition of Macromedia had a hand in making it happen, since Macromedia Fireworks has had Live Filters for several versions now.
